School Committee Approves 2015-16 Calendar

We know, we know: You’re still trying to wrap your head around finishing THIS school year. But the Swampscott School Committee is already looking ahead.

At its March 9 meeting, the committee approved a 2015-16 school calendar that has staff back in the classroom on Aug. 31 and students returning on Sept. 2.

Because of Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, students will not attend a full week of classes until the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

The final day of classes will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016 if there are no snow days. Any necessary make-up days will be added on to that week in June with a final day being Tuesday, June 28 if there are five snow days.

And if there are more than five snow days? Well, let’s not think about that...
