SHS Students to attend International DECA Leadership Academy

In its inaugural year at Swampscott High School, the DECA program will be sending junior students Samantha Blank and Isabella Kornitsky to the Leadership Academy at the International Career and Development Conference hosted in Orlando, FL!

DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is the only International student organization operating through the nation’s schools to attract young people to careers in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Its purposes are to develop a respect for education, which will contribute to occupational competence and to promote understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in our free enterprise system. The purpose of the conference is to provide worthwhile activities to assist students in career development as they prepare to be the business leaders of tomorrow. Aside from competing and workshops, there are many exciting activities throughout the day for the students to participate in, all planned and designed for this advancement.

Swampscott will be attending the conference alongside over 14,000 other students from 55 chartered associations. (Each state that participates is considered a chartered association).
