SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents and visitors are advised to slow it down or be prepared to pay the price in the area of Humphrey Street.
Swampscott police said they will be "heavily patrolling" Humphrey Street along the waterfront in the upcoming weeks and "strictly enforcing" the 25 mph speed limit.
Swampscott received a pedestrian and intoxicated driving enforcement grant that will allow for extra patrols throughout the upcoming weeks.

The state Office of Grants and Executive Office of Public Safety funded the grants.
The enforcement comes ahead of a new traffic pattern in the area of the Hadley and Blaney schools ahead of the new school year. School officials said the traffic pattern, which will be implemented with students shifting to Hadley and Blaney amid the construction of the new Stanley School, will go into effect as of Friday.
