Stanley Principal Decision Made, Sort Of

The search committee is punting the decision until next year.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The Stanley School will again have an interim principal after the search committee decided to take a pass on current candidates in hopes of finding a "veteran principal" by the 2019-20 school year. Superintendent Pamela Angelakis announced early Thursday evening that Lois Longin will remain in her role as interim principal, which she has served as since March 18.

"While the search committee was impressed with qualifications and strengths of some of the candidates, by unanimous consensus the principal search committee’s decision was to go with a veteran principal and reopen the search sometime in the fall of 2018 for the 2019-2020 school year," Angelakis said.

Longin, a Swampscott native, has been the principal at Hadley for nine years and Clarke for seven.
