Suspicious Man Behind the Art Gallery; Unregistered Solicitors: Swampscott Police

Wednesday, Feb. 17

At 1:11 p.m., there was a report of unregistered solicitors on Banks and Walker Roads.

At 3:15 p.m., a caller on Paradise Road reported smelling a heavy odor coming from a neighbor’s apartment.

At 8:23 p.m., there was a report of suspicious activity on Humphrey Street. A Puritan Road resident whose house backs up to an art gallery on Humphrey Street said she saw a man in his 50s behind the building wearing a winter hat and gloves. When her husband asked him if he was okay, he got on a bicycle and rode towards Lynn.

At 3:26 a.m., a caller on Paradise Road reported a noise that sounded like generators. Police determined it might have been street sweepers.
