Swampscott 10th-Graders Ace MCAS: ICYMI
Swampscott 10th-graders scored at least 91% advanced/proficient in English, Math, and Science on the MCAS: in case you missed it.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The 2016 MCAS results were released Monday and Swampscott's scores were once again well above the state average. Most remarkably, Swampscott students scored 92 percent advanced/proficient in science — 19 percentage points higher than the state average.
Below are the results for the 10th-grade tests in English, math, and science:

Statewide, Massachusetts students scores remained flat and three more Boston-area schools were labeled "underperforming."
State education officials said MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) results are used to making improvements in teaching and learning and hold school districts and students "accountable."
