SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents are being urged to lock their vehicles when unattended after police said there were break-ins reported in the lower Humphrey Street area late last week and over the weekend.

"Thieves typically won't waste time entering a locked vehicle unless there are valuables visible," police said. "Simply locking your vehicle and hiding anything of value can protect you from becoming a victim."

Residents who see suspicious activity are asked to call the police at 781-595-1111.
