SWAMPSCOTT, MA — North Shore residents are invited to stop by, say "hi" and perhaps buy a pie from the Swampscott High School cheerleaders at their annual fundraiser on Sunday.

The cheerleaders will be at the Swampscott Farmers Market at Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where they will be selling pies from Spinelli's to raise funds for the program. This is the seventh year of the fundraiser.

Money raised from previous pie sales has gone toward sending team members 11 Burke's Tumbling Academy clinics, cheer bows, competition music, competition fees, 16 pairs of warm-up gear, nine jackets and 10 new poms.

Funds raised from this year's sales will go to benefit next year's team.

The cheerleaders have a lofty bar to clear on Saturday as last year they sold 278 pies — including 35 that were donated to My Brother's Table of Lynn, which is the largest soup kitchen on the North Shore serving Lynn and nearby communities for 40 years.
