Swampscott Free Coronavirus Testing Changes

Test program as in-person school resumes begins Wednesday and Friday this week and will continue Wednesdays and Saturdays through October.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott will run free coronavirus testing for students and residents as children return to in-classroom learning on Wednesday and Friday this week and Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout October.

Some times and dates are changes from those originally announced earlier this week.

Testing will be Wednesday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. this week only. Starting next week the testing will be from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through October.

Parents are encouraged to have their children returning to the school buildings tested at the drive-thru testing site on Monument Avenue. Testing will be at First Congressional Church parking lot.

Vehicles should enter the driveway directly in front of the church from the Monument Avenue entrance.

Drivers waiting in line are asked to park their cars in the line, and keep face masks on, while someone from the testing site approaches the vehicle and takes information for on-site registration.

The "less-invasive nasal swab" will be used for this testing.
