Swampscott Free Narcan Training Course Set For Next Week

Those who complete the training will receive free Narcan along with fentanyl test strips.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents are invited to take part in a Narcan training clinic that will allow them to administer life-saving treatment to someone suffering from an opioid overdose.

The course will be at the Swampscott Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 14.

Those attending will learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. Once training is complete, those attending will receive free Narcan and fentanyl testing strips.

Because spots are limited, pre-registration is required. However, those attending do not have to give their name to take the course — the registration is only to get an accurate attendance ahead of the course to make sure there are enough materials.

Registration can be done by calling the Senior Center at 781-596-8866.
