Swampscott July 5 Fireworks Road Closures, Parking Restrictions
Parking restrictions will begin at 3 p.m. with road closures to start at 6 p.m. for the event postponed from Monday because of rain.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott police will institute several road closures and parking restrictions on July 5 as the town celebrates Independence Day with a Town Hall Lawn party and fireworks.
The event was postponed from Monday because of rain in the forecast.
"Large crowds are expected, so if coming as a family, please take the time to talk to your children about safety and create a plan if you become separated," Swampscott police advised.

The road closures begin at 6 p.m with Humphrey Street closed from the Lynn line to Redington Street, All of Monument Avenue closed, Burrill Street closed from Monument Avenue to Paradise Road, Elmwood Road closed from Monument Avenue to Paradise Road, and Shaw Road, Andrew Road, Thomas Road and Hardy Road all closed.
The parking restrictions begin at 3 p.m. with no parking on both sides of Humphrey Street from the Lynn line to Redington Street, all of Monument Avenue, Burrill Street from Monument Avenue to Paradise Road, Elmwood Road from Monument Avenue to Paradise Road, portions of Walker Road, Farragut Road from Ellis Road to Walker Road and no parking on all of Redington Street, Sheridan Road, Thomas Road and Banks Road.

Vehicles on the designated streets after 3 p.m. on July 3 are subject to ticketing and towing.
Handicap parking for the lawn party and fireworks will be available on the Hadley School lot on Redington Street. Limited public parking will be available at the Phillips Park football field.
Any suspicious activity should be reported to an officer present or to Swampscott police at 781-595-1111.
