Swampscott Local Election Deadline and Absentee Ballots

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR APRIL 28, 2015

The Swampscott Town Clerk’s Office at 22 Monument Avenue in TOWN HALL will remain open until 8PM on Wednesday, April 8th. Anyone wishing to vote in the upcoming April 28th Local Election must register no later than this deadline. Registrations can be done in person in the Clerk’s Office or by mail-in. In order to qualify for voter registration you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Massachusetts, 18 years old on or before Election Day or not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction. Official Voter Registration forms are available in person, by mail or by downloading the form on the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howreg.htm

ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW

All applications for absentee ballots must be made in writing. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered and you may use any form of written communication (letter or postcard) or the official application form. A family member may apply in the same manner for you. You may vote Absentee ballot if you will be absent from the town on Election Day, have a physical disability that prevents your voting at the polling location or cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs. You may vote at the Clerk’s office or request the ballot be mailed to you. Absentee ballot application deadline by law is no later than 12:00 PM, April 27th. Absentee ballots must be received in the Clerk’s Office no later than 8PM on Election Day. An Official Absentee ballot application may be downloaded on the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howabs.htm

A new Absentee ballot Application is required every Calendar Year.
