Swampscott To Open Pair Of Composting Locations

Food waste and organics can be dropped off by the dog park near the cemetery and by the Swampscott police station.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents have two new places to dispose of their food and organic waste in a way that reduces trash volume in the town.

Swampscott has contracted with Black Earth Compost to provide two drop-off locations as part of the town's Waste Reduction Program. Bins are available by the dog park near the cemetery and by the police station.

Residents must pre-register to obtain the code to the locked bins. Registration can be done here. The registration process involves answering questions about what is and what is not eligible or composting.
