Swampscott Orders Recreational Beach Items Removed Ahead Of Weekend Storm
The potential nor'easter could bring winds up to 40 mph, heavy rain and beach erosion to coastal locations.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents on Wednesday were ordered to remove all kayaks, paddleboards and other recreational beach items from Fisherman's Beach ahead of this weekend's predicted nor'easter.
The storm, which could bring 40 mph winds, heavy rain and beach erosion from astronomically high tides, is expected to arrive late Friday and last through Monday.
The Swampscott order said all items must be gone from the beach by Thursday night.

Those include the removal of all kayaks, paddleboards, and other paddle craft from Fisherman's Beach.
Residents are asked to make sure equipment is secured at their homes or other protected locations.

"Taking these steps will help protect personal property, prevent debris hazards, and support public safety during the storm," town officials said.
