Swampscott Police Active Investigation At Stop & Shop Parking Lot

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The Swampscott Police Department said there is no threat to public safety amid an ongoing investigation centered around a police presence at the Stop & Shop parking lot on Paradise Road on Monday morning.

Police confirmed that they are working with the Essex County District Attorney's Office on the "active" investigation but declined to reveal what it is about because of the "highly sensitive and personal nature of the situation."

Swampscott police referred any further questions on the incident to the Essex DA's Office.
