Swampscott Police Dog Sora Looking Sharp In New Protective Vest

Vested Interest in K9s donated a bullet and stab protective vest to the community comfort dog and the Swampscott Police Department.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott's community comfort dog Sora was all dressed up and ready to get to work this week after the Swampscott Police Department received the donation of a bullet and stab wound protection vest.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provides vests to police service and comfort dogs throughout the country through money raised from private and corporate donors. Vested Interest in K9s has donated 4,970 vests to service dogs in all 50 states valued at about $6.9 million.

The vests are custom-fitted and made in the United States.

Sora's vest is embroidered with the message: "This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc."

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount. A single donation of $985 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1,744 to $2,283, weighs an average of four to five pounds, and comes with a five-year warranty.
