Swampscott Residents Encouraged To Compost Halloween Pumpkins
Residents can drop off the pumpkins at the Department of Public Works.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents with Halloween pumpkins whose best days are behind them are encouraged to compost them this month.
Residents can drop off the woebegone gourds at the Department of Public Works yard at 200 Pleasant Street on Nov. 12.
Drop-off will take place between 9 and 11 a.m. where Black Earth Composting will then collect them for mass composting. The process not only saves space in the trash but recycling the pumpkins is more environmentally friendly.
