Swampscott Schools Cancel Friday Classes Amid Covid-19 Concerns

School officials with Swampscott Public Schools reminded parents that there are no cases of the coronavirus in the schools or the town.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA—Officials with Swampscott Public Schools have canceled classes Friday for students amid growing coronavirus concerns.

"Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our town or schools, and while we await more guidance from state agencies, there will be no school tomorrow," school officials said in a tweet.

All local and area school field trips have also been canceled until further notice, school officials announced Wednesday. They say they will reassess this decision following April break.
