Swampscott Students Honored At Bates, Bryant, Emmanuel, RIT, Tufts

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — These Swampscott students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Madison Diehl, a freshman at Penn State studying Speech Language and Communications Disorders earned the school's President Walker Award after making the Dean's list with a 4.0 grade point average for the fall semester.

Dylan Roberts was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the fall semester ending in December 2022. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.92 or higher.

Roberts is a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School. He is a first-year at Bates.

Emmanuel College has named more than 800 students to the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester, including Abigail Beaver, Isabelle Beaver, Isabella Chavez, Ugen Kurdeikaite and Julia Rapisarda.

To earn a spot on the Emmanuel Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester. Local students honored include:

Tufts University said that Jamie Boots-Ebenfield, Class of 2023, and Verna Runstadler, Class of 2026, were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester.

Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Bryant University recognized Brooke Matela, Anna Mishenina and John Raycroft as the students who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and achievement and have been named to the fall 2022 Deans' List.

To earn a place on the Bryant Dean's List students must have a GPA of 3.4 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.

Emma Tomlins was named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the 2022 fall semester.

To be named to the Dean's List at Hamilton, a student must have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester and earned an average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Tomlins, a senior majoring in history, is a graduate of Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School.

Annie Overbaugh and Diana Shalimova were named to Clark University's fall 2022 Dean's List.

Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors at Clark

More than 2,700 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester, including Chloe Silverman.

Students who make the Dean's List at Coastal Carolina have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, 3.25 for freshmen.

Nicholas Parsons and Simon Lee were named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400.

Lee is in the illustration program. Parsons is in the mechanical engineering program.
