Swampscott Students Honored At Holy Cross, Nazareth, Regis, SSU

These Swampscott students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — These Swampscott students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Jamie Gaber was initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Gaber was initiated at Salem State University.

Gaber is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Nazareth College announced that Sean O'Brian was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester.

A student's grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean's list at Nazareth.

Christian Emmerich earned a bachelor of arts degree from College of the Holy Cross.

Emmerich is among 762 bachelor of arts degree recipients Holy Cross celebrated at its 177th Commencement held in person on May 26 at the DCU Center in Worcester.

The following Swampscott students earned degrees at Regis:

Hailey Lovell of Swampscott (01907) graduated Cum laude with a BS in Nursing.

Hannah Leahy of Swampscott (01907) graduated Magna cum laude with a BS in Nursing.

Megan Cavanaugh graduated with a Post Master's Certificate in Nursing — Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
