Swampscott Town Election Set For April 25, Nomination Papers Available

Those interested in running for office this spring can obtain nomination papers at the Town Clerk's Office.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents interested in running for public office have until March 3 to pick up nomination papers for the annual town election.

The election date is set for April 25.

Papers must be obtained by 5 p.m. on March 3 and must be returned for candidates and town meeting members by 5 p.m. on March 7.

Papers can be picked up at the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Swampscott will have 10 positions up for a townwide vote this spring, including two Select Board positions and two School Committee positions. The town moderator is also up for vote, along with one spot each on the Board of Assessors, Trustees of the Public Library, Board of Health, Planning Board and Housing Authority.

Town meeting members must obtain 10 signatures and candidates for elected office must obtain 50 signatures on nomination papers.

Candidates may return their Notice of Re-Election or Declaration of Intent by visiting the Town Clerk's office, using the drop box outside of Town Hall, via fax to 781-596-8870, or via email to Jared LaLiberte or Brittany Jones.
