SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A virtual public meeting to discuss and get feedback on plans for an expanded Swampscott town pier set for Thursday night has been postponed.

Town officials did not give a reason for nixing the Harbor & Waterfront Committee meeting but said it would be rescheduled for a later date.

In 2018, the Harbor and Waterfront Plan identified the town pier as a project that would "enhance recreational and economic opportunities along Fisherman's Beach." The Seaport Economic Council provided funding to work with a consultant to research, test and create a preliminary design for an expanded pier structure.
