Swampscott Voters Back Biden, Trump In Tuesday Presidential Primary

Donald Trump bested Nikki Haley in the Republican primary by a margin that was much closer than the state average.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump were the top preferences among Danvers voters in Tuesday's Super Tuesday primary in results that somewhat mirrored the state margins.

In unofficial results, Biden won the Democratic vote with 1,749 votes. Finishing second was "No Preference" with 125 votes.

In the Republican primary, Trump received 755 votes with Haley second at 688 votes. Trump's margin of victory was much closer in Swampscott than it was statewide where Trump netted nearly two-thirds of the party vote.

Voters also chose state party committee men and committee women, as well as ward committee representatives on Tuesday.
