SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents whose once-fierce-looking jack-o'-lantern has turned soft and sagging in recent days are asked to turn them into the town for composting rather than tossing them in the trash.

The pumpkin composting event will be on Nov. 13 at the Department of Public Works yard on Paradise Road.

The composting will be done through Black Earth Composting.
