Thomas Driscoll Launches Essex County Clerk Of Courts Re-Election Bid
The Swampscott resident said the Secretary of State's office has certified his nomination papers to be on the ballot.

SALEM, MA — Essex County Clerk of Courts Thomas Driscoll will be on the ballot for re-election this fall after the Swampscott resident told Patch that the Secretary of State certified his nomination papers.
Driscoll oversees the superior courts in Salem, Lawrence and Newburyport.
Driscoll said in a statement to Patch that he looks forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the residents of Essex County and takes great pride in employing the most professional and efficient clerical staff and assistant clerks in the Commonwealth.

"I have assembled an exceptional team that guarantees the administration of justice which the people of Essex County deserve and have come to expect," Driscoll said. "My office has developed and maintains close relationships with the Justices of the Court, District Attorney and Attorney General’s offices, the Sheriff's Department, the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the Bar Advocates office, civil bar, and the departments of the superior and trial courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide excellent service in the Superior Court."
Driscoll is a member of the Essex County, Greater Lynn, Greater Newburyport and Lawrence Bar Associations. He was honored by the Essex County Bar Association with the 2023 Ronan Distinguished Service Award for his contributions the legal profession and administration of justice.

The Lynn native has lived in Swampscott with his wife of 32 years, Tara Cassidy-Driscoll, and together they have three children.
He has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1990 and is also sworn into the United States District Court for Massachusetts. Following law school, Driscoll served as an Essex County Assistant District attorney in the office of Kevin Burke.
He was previously the owner and manager of the law firm Driscoll & Associates.
