Verizon Outage KOs Swampscott Phone Lines

The town said Tuesday afternoon the town hall outage was part of "widespread Verizon issues."

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott Town Hall was part of the town experiencing an outage to Verizon phone service on Tuesday.

Town officials said the lack of phone service was "due to widespread Verizon phone issues."

The outages come on the day when residents go to the polls to vote on the proposed $98 million K-4 elementary schools.

The town did not give a timetable for when service was to be restored as of 2:30 p.m.

"We apologize for the inconvenience," town officials said.
