Woman Arrested on Second OUI Offense After Crashing into Pole

Plus, an all-night ticking noise and a possible break-in attempt.

At midnight, a caller reported the rear door of Four Seasons Motor Group appeared to be open. An officer secured the door and reported everything seemed to be in order.

At 5:38 a.m., a caller said a ticking sound in the area of Essex Street had been going on all night. The log notes that the air conditioner at Antique Table was making the noise.

At 7:48 a.m., a caller said it appeared someone had attempted to break into her home sometime over the past couple of days. A break attempt was noted on the glass door of the Florida room, but the main house was not accessed.

At 12:52 p.m., police made an arrest following a motor vehicle crash. The log notes that a person crashed into a pole on Bay View Avenue. Mary Doherty, 65, of Swampscott was arrested and charged with OUI liquor (2nd offense), leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

At 8:34 p.m., a caller reported an unwanted guest who was intoxicated. Police were able to mediate the situation.
