The 14U Tewksbury Chiefs opened their 2018 season Sunday in disappointing fashion with a mercy-shortened loss against the Western Maine Mountaineers. Errors, walks, passed balls, and mental mistakes were the theme for the oldest team in the Chiefs organization. Newcomer Brady Lane provided a highlight with an RBI double in his Chiefs debut. Shortstop Michael Sullivan also played well defensively, notching six putouts over two games.

Game two of the double header showed slight improvement for Tewksbury. The four run loss saw fewer walks and errors, but it was not enough to avoid the sweep. During the game two loss, utility man Luke Maresca recorded his first hit of the young season.
