2 Huge Lottery Winners Sold At Tewksbury Stores

TEWKSBURY, MA — Two separate lottery prizes were claimed in Tewksbury this month, including one Powerball win and one scratch ticket payout, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.

The larger of the two prizes was a $50,000 Powerball win claimed on Jan. 19. The winning ticket was purchased at the Market Basket in Tewksbury, lottery officials said.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week and regularly attract players seeking multimillion-dollar jackpots, though smaller prizes are far more common.

On Jan. 28, another Tewksbury ticket sold brought in a $20,000 prize. That winning ticket came from the Lifetime Millions scratch-off game and was sold at a Mobil gas station in Tewksbury.

The Massachusetts State Lottery does not publicly identify most winners unless they choose to come forward. Retailers that sell winning tickets are typically eligible for a bonus from the lottery.
