2 People Charged With Dealing Fentanyl, Cocaine In Tewksbury: Police

Two people were arrested Friday on allegations that they were selling drugs after police searched a hotel room.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Two people were charged with dealing fentanyl and cocaine in Tewksbury on Friday, according to police.

Police responded Friday at 3:21 a.m. to the Marriott Residence Inn on Andover St. Officers searched a hotel room and found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Julio Rivera, 35, of Lawrence, was charged with trafficking more than 100 grams of fentanyl, trafficking more than 36 grams of cocaine, and class-A drug possession.

Kara Waugh, 31, of Lawrence, was charged with trafficking heroin/opium/fentanyl more than 100 grams, trafficking cocaine more than 36 grams, class-A drug possession, and class-B drug possession.

Waugh was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants related to drug and theft charges, police said.

Both were scheduled for arraignment in Lowell District Court on Tuesday.
