4 Arrested After Tewksbury Drug Investigation

Tewksbury police said they observed a drug transaction near the Motel 6.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested four people following a drug investigation, they said Friday. According to the police, police officers witnessed a drug deal near the Motel 6, leading to the arrest of the four people. According to Detective Lt. Ryan Columbus, police were conducting surveillance after reports of drug activity in the area, but had not received a call about the suspects in question. They found more drugs after conducting a search, with a warrant.

Police found 11 grams of fentanyl, which is just above the trafficking weight of 10 grams, as well as a small amount of crack and powder cocaine. The only weapon found was brass knuckles.

Jan Ortiz, 32, of Lawrence, for trafficking fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, conspiracy to violate the drug laws and 2 warrants for failing to attend jury duty.

Thomas Murphy, Jr., 35, also of Lawrence, for trafficking fentanyl, carrying a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles), and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

Mark Cremin, 31, of Stoneham, for possession of crack cocaine, possession of Hydroxyzine Pomate, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

Tiffany Carney, 25, of Lowell, for possession of crack cocaine, possession of Hydroxyzine Pomate, conspiracy to violate the drug laws and for having 2 warrants for possession of a class a substance, fentanyl.
