4th Grade White Team Splits A Pair Of Games

Nashua 28   Tewksbury 4^th Grade White 21

  The Tewksbury 4th Grade White team dropped its regular season opener to Nashua 28-21.  The 4W team matched Nashua stride for stride and was able to generate plenty of offensive opportunities, but unfortunately the shots were not falling early.  Despite making several spirited runs, 4W was never able to completely recover from the early deficit.  Chris Antonelli was on fire scoring 13 points.  Tyler Keough added 4 points while Evan Mantel and Nicky Iannacci contributed 2 points each.  Santino Garofalo and Brodie Tirrell were very active on the boards and Jason Martineau, Max Cummings, Aidan Doherty and Joey Branchaud played some tough defense

Tewksbury 4th Grade White 31,  Windham 30

  The Tewksbury 4th Grade White team split its games over the weekend.  On Saturday, the team notched a dramatic comeback 31-30 victory at Windham.  Tewksbury got off to a slow start and trailed by 7 throughout most of the contest.   But in the closing minutes the boys clicked back into form and began to take the game over.  The charge was led by the aggressive defensive play of Tyler Keough (4 pts) and Brodie Tirrell (2 pts) who together forced multiple turnovers.  But the star of the game was Chris Antonelli (17 pts) who was fouled driving to the hoop with the team trailing by 1 with 1 second remaining on the clock.  Antonelli calmly strolled to the line and drained both free throws to win the game.  Also scoring were Max Cummings, Santino Garofalo, Nicky Iannacci and Joey Branchaud who all added 2 pts each.  Jason Martineau, Aidan Doherty and Evan Mantel played well defensively.

  Unfortunately, 4 White could not sustain the momentum on Sunday as they struggled at home against a very good Reading squad losing 40-17.  Tyler Keough led the scoring with 8 pts.  Joey Branchaud (4 pts), Thomas Barinelli (3 pts) and Evan Mantel (2 pts) rounded out the scoring.

Tewksbury 6^th Grade Red 36       Windham 24

The Tewksbury 6Th grade Red Travel Basketball Team started it regular season with a win against Windham 36 to 24. Of fence lead by David Giuggio with12 points and Jared Mason with 8 points. Also scoring was Jesse LaMarca, John Ciampa, Mason Lorick, Gavin Macdoald and Cam Kelly. Great Defense by Chris Monteneri, Makin McDonald, Troy Acconcia and Alex Papageorgiou.
