Monday, July 30, 7pm
Herb gardening has been popular for centuries but herbs were not grown solely for culinary use, as we think of them primarily today. Herb gardens took care of the family by providing herbs for medicine, herbs for dying cloths, herbs to keep the clothes and house fresh, and many other uses. Kathi Gariepy, of the Massachusetts Master Gardener Association, will explore the world of herbs and take a look at a modern day herb garden. Register HERE.

OUTDOOR CONCERT SERIES: Dan Walker
Monday, July 30, 6:30pm
Enjoy an acoustic folk/rock concert from Dan Walker. Groove-oriented and soul-bound, Walker's music has earned him opportunities to support Martin Sexton, Livingston Taylor, Merle Haggard, Roseanne Cash, Slaid Cleaves, and more. He's got a voice that belongs smack-dab in the middle of popular radio's programming. A furious picker and relentless strummer, with a knack for turning the body of his acoustic guitar into a glorified hand-drum, Walker is the real deal. Concert to take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, concert will take place in the library’s Meeting Room. Look for the overflow parking signs if the main parking lot fills up. Register HERE.
TEWKSBURY JOB SEEKERS: How To Take Make Age Invisible
Monday, July 30, 2pm
Age can influence hiring decisions in subtle and often undisclosed ways. This interactive talk and discussion will describe what a job seeker can do to minimize or eliminate the influence of age. Discuss the many ways a job seeker can improve his or her personal presentation to appear less "old." Learn how unconscious habitual "old" behaviors can have a huge negative effect on any decision to hire. Led by Randall Warniers, freelance editor, book designer and book publisher who spent nearly two decades in the world of publishing as managing editor of a research journal at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He is also a photographer and a photography instructor at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, an instructor in 19th-century British literature at Acton-Boxborough Community Education, and a facilitator and member of the leadership team at Acton Networkers.
