Fright Night: Asteroids -- Friends or Foes?

Monday, September 17, 2pm

Sky & Telescope magazine editor J. Kelly Beatty will explore the science (& science fiction) surrounding asteroids & the threat they pose. Learn the basics of asteroids, how asteroids and meteorites are related, and what we learn about each from missions like OSIRIS-REx. Meteorites will be on dispaly and passed around. Sprouts Story Time

Monday, September 10, 10:15am AND 11am

For young children ages 0 to 3 years. Older siblings are always welcome to join in! Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Please note, we have 2 sessions that are the same, one is at 10:15am and the other is at 11:00am. There is no registration, HOWEVER, there is limited space in the room. Please check in at the Children's desk upon arrival to check to see if there is still room available in the session.

Barks & Books with Prince

Monday, September 10, 5pm-6:30pm

For students reading INDEPENDENTLY in Grades K to 5. Kids (especially those struggling with reading) are invited to sign up for a one-on-one session with our service dog Prince on Mondays. Each session lasts for 15 minutes in private in our Story Time Room. Bring your own book or borrow one of ours to read. This is a great way to build literacy confidence and fluency with a non-judgmental canine reading partner!
