Author David W. Moore ("Small Town, Big Oil: The Untold Story of the Women Who Took on the Richest Man in the World -- And Won") is sure to provide ideas and inspiration to activists and organizers who have ever felt like they were "David" battling "Goliath." Learn how the the residents of Durham, New Hampshire -- led by three women -- out-organized, out-witted, and out-maneuvered the governor, the media, and a powerful oil billionaire to spare their seacoast from becoming an industrial wasteland. David is a Senior Fellow at the Carsey Center for Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire, where he taught political science for 21 years before leaving to become senior editor of the Gallup Poll. For ages 3 to 7. Older or younger siblings are welcome to join us, too! Have early literacy fun with stories, songs, movement and more at this early evening story time. Pajamas are optional but encouraged. No registration.
TEEN PROGRAMS
Tough Topics: NFL Players Protesting
Tuesday, September 18, 5:30pm
A group where teens from any political party or belief system can come to have a civil discussion about current topics in the news or our community. We will look at different articles, videos or other sources to gain knowledge prior to our discussion. September's meeting will focus on NFL Players Protesting, coming up with next month's topic, and going over ground rules for having a civil conversation. Teens who participate will receive an hour of community service. Grades 6 to 12. Register HERE.
Jackbox Games
Tuesday, September 18, 6:30pm
Hang out and play Jackbox Games! Play as a team or individually. Just make sure your phone is charged. An iPad will be available for teens without a smartphone or device to play on. The Tewksbury Community Market has relocated from the Tewksbury Town Common to the Tewksbury Library! Come visit every Tuesday to shop for art, crafts, flowers, plants and food. There will be around 10 vendors. No registration.
