Wednesday, August 1, 6:30pm

Actor Gary Poholek will perform his one-man show about the origins of My Fair Lady, potrarying Professor Henry Higgins. Based on George Bernard Shaw’s renowned play PYGMALION, our story centers around Professor Henry Higgins of London, dialect and speech expert. Higgins makes a bet with his comrade Colonel Pickering that he can take Miss Eliza Doolittle, an ordinary cockney flower girl, and pass her off as a duchess at the Embassy Ball. Dressed in Victorian attire, local professional actor Gary Poholek brings the story to life, portraying all of the various roles with different accents and mannerisms. Alternating between humor and poignancy, this one-man presentation is unique and entertaining and contains four musical selections from MY FAIR LADY. Performance to take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, concert will take place in the library’s first-floor Fairgrieve Wing. Look for the overflow parking signs if the main parking lot fills up. Register HERE.
