OUTDOOR LIVING HISTORY SERIES: An Evening with Henry David Thoreau

Wednesday, July 18, 6:30pm

Actor Brent Ranalli will perform his one-man show, "Thoreau." How did Henry the pencil-maker’s son become Thoreau the writer? This presentation follows that journey. There will be an opportunity for open Q&A as well. Ranalli is an Acton-based historian and Thoreau scholar. He serves as Editor of the Thoreau Society Bulletin. Performance to take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, concert will take place in the library’s first-floor Fairgrieve Wing. Look for the overflow parking signs if the main parking lot fills up. Register HERE.

Adult Crafternoon

Wednesday, July 18, 1:30pm

Calling all knitters, crocheters, needle workers, beaders, and colorers! Bring your own craft project to the Library and work on it while enjoying conversation with other crafters. (Please, no crafts involving glue or paint.) Take advantage of the many books available at the library to get ideas for your next project or to explore a new craft. Register HERE.

Little Einsteins

For ages 3 to 6. Want your preschooler to have fun with science? Math? Engineering? Then come to this hands on program where each time we meet we focus on a different subject to explore. You never know what you'll learn next! This program is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required. Register HERE.

Did You Find Xand This Week?

Children are encouraged to search for the library's friendly resident alien "Xand" somewhere on the first floor. When they locate him, come to the Children's Room Desk and let us know what he has to say this week! You'll receive a raffle ticket to enter to this week's prize pack. Remember, Xand's location changes EVERY week this summer and he's not confined to the Children's Room.

Cupcakes and Musical Bingo: Grades 6-12
