Authors Phyllis Karas and Anna Weeks ("Women Of Southie: Finding Resilience During Whitey Bulger's Infamous Reign") will share the stories of six women who lived in South Boston during Whitey Bulger's rule and overcame unimaginable obstacles, including the death of loved ones, suicide, murder, addiction, abuse, and post-traumatic stress disorder. These women never backed down from a challenge, and fought for their families armed with love, courage and determination. Phyllis Karas is a professor at Boston University's School of Journalism. She is the author of several non-fiction books, including "Brutal: The Untold Story of My Life Inside Whitey Bulger's Irish Mob" with Kevin Weeks and "An Actor and a Gentlemen" with Louis Gossett, Jr. Q&A and book selling/signing to follow. Story Time Stations

Storytime Stations is a fun way to explore stories and make connections with books to a number of other skills, such as reading, writing, math, and art. This month, we will be exploring "The Gingerbread Man." Storytime Stations is designed for children aged 3-5; siblings are always welcome. This program is presented in conjunction with Community Teamwork. No registration required.

Jingle-A-Rama Story Time

Tuesday, December 18, 7pm

For ages 3 to 7. Younger siblings are always welcome! This evening, we will focus on some fun and festive holiday tales. Feel free to come in your pajamas! No registration required.

FOR TEENS

Tough Topics: Voting Rights

Tuesday, December 18, 5:30pm

A group where teens from any political party or belief system can come to have a civil discussion about current topics in the news or our community. We will look at different articles, videos or other sources to gain knowledge prior to our discussion. December's meeting will focus on Voting Rights, coming up with next month's topic, and going over ground rules for having a civil conversation. Teens who participate will receive an hour of community service. Snacks will be provided. Register HERE.

Jackbox Games

Tuesday, December 18, 6:30pm

Hang out and play Jackbox Games! Play as a team or individually. Just make sure your phone is charged. An iPad will be available for teens without a smartphone or device to play on.
