Author Visit: An Evening of True Crime with Doug "VB" Goudie

Author Doug "VB" Goudie ("A Frost In Hell: The True Story of the Petersham Butcher of 1875") will explore an infamous Massachusetts murder, which led to the "trial of the year," a first-of-its kind appeal, and a last-of-its-kind punishment that caused our state to reconsider its criminal justice system. Doug "VB" Goudie has spent much of his career in talk radio in Boston, first as a sidekick on the Howie Carr Show, then as a host on VB's Pleasure Pit, and now as a host on the Boston.com Morning Show on WRKO. Film Screening: The Leisure Seeker

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest DVD releases -- The Leisure Seeker, a dramatic comedy starring Helen Mirren & Donald Sutherland. A runaway couple go on an unforgettable journey in the faithful old RV they call "The Leisure Seeker." Rated R. 112 minutes. Doors will open 30 minutes early. Candy & bottled water will be served in the afternoon. Pizza & bottled water will be served. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library and Tewksbury Lions Club. Tewksbury Book Festival
Saturday, September 22, 10am-1pm
Celebrate local authors at the library's 2nd Annual Tewksbury Book Festival. This author fair includes a diverse collection of 15 writers, all with ties to Tewksbury. Drop in anytime during the 3-hour event to meet these local authors; learn about their books; enjoy complimentary donuts (10am-11:30am), pizza (11:30am-1pm), and drinks; and enter to win free raffles. Signed books will be for sale. Featured authors include: Jon Bishop, Jamie Blake, Valerie Borgal, Valerie Clark, Dave Copeland, Beth Daigle, Sunayana Kachroo Bhide, Robert MacDougall, Cathy Marci, Jeannine Martin, R.C. This club meets every other Saturday from 2-3 pm. Activities may include play games, kawaii crafts, watching anime, discussing manga, drawing anime, cosplay, or other random activities. Musical Bingo
Saturday, September 22, 3pm
Join us for an hour of musical bingo! Instead of a bingo card with letters and numbers, you will get a paper with song names. If your song is played then you mark it off on your sheet. The first person to get bingo will get a small prize. This is a friendly game and we try to make the songs easy to identify. Singing along is optional. Grades 6 to 12. Register HERE.
