75-Unit Apartment Complex Heads To Tewksbury Planning Board
Neighbors of the proposed project are concerned that the complex will add more traffic to an already congested stretch of Route 38.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- A 75-unit apartment complex that has raised concerns among neighbors will go before the planning board Monday night. The proposed complex would consist of three, 4.5-story buildings and would stretch from Carewell to Astle Streets, with its main entrance on Route 38 across from Vic's Waffle House.
The developer is building the complex under Chapter 40B. Under Chapter 40B, developers can largely bypass local zoning regulations if the town does not have at least 10% of its housing stock classified as affordable.
A group of neighbors has been pushing a grassroots campaign to oppose the project. In closed Facebook groups for Tewksbury residents they have raised concerns that the proposed complex would add too much traffic to an already-congested section of Main Street.
