TEWKSBURY, MA — There is currently a heavy police presence on Salem Road due to an ongoing incident, police said in a Facebook post around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said it is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes if possible.

"Please allow emergency personnel the space they need to respond safely and efficiently," police said. "We will provide updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation."
