Adult Events (In-Person)

IN PERSON: Science Squared Discussion

Monday, June 1, 7pm

Join us to discuss Buzz, Sting, Bite by Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson. Most of us think life would be better without bugs. In fact, life would be impossible without them. This entertaining guide to the insect world, shows us that there is more variety among insects than we can even imagine and the more you learn about insects, the more fascinating they become. Books are available at the front desk one month prior to the discussion.

IN PERSON: English Conversation Group with English At Large (*RR)

Tuesday, June 2, 6:30pm

English At Large will be running an English Conversation Group in Tewksbury this summer. Conversation groups are groups of 8 -12 adult learners who meet weekly for 90 minutes to practice English speaking and listening skills. All groups are free! Registration is required. Groups are in person and are for adults who speak English at an intermediate or advanced level. You should be able to have a conversation in English. Conversation groups are not classes. Volunteer facilitators focus on listening and speaking.

IN PERSON: Musical Memories with Esmerelda Clump (*RR)

Tuesday, June 2, 6:30pm

Enjoy an evening of music from the 40's to 70's, trivia, dancing, door prizes and old-fashioned fun with Esmerelda and her friends. Tewksbury's Carol Anne Robitaille ("Esmerelda Clump") has spent most of her life entertaining, choreographing, and directing shows. She is now retired and is a well-known karaoke singer in the area. She also regularly entertains at local nursing homes. (She says they like her there because they don't have up to turn up their hearing aids.)

Join us to discuss Murder Your Employer by Rupert Holmes. Preparing you for an education you'll never forget, this introduction to The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of homicidal arts, follows students as they prepare for graduation by getting away with the perfect murder of someone whose death will make the world a much better place to live. Books are available at the front desk one month prior to the discussion.

IN PERSON: Tewksbury Community Market at LIVINGSTON PARK

Thursday, June 4, 4pm-7pm

The Tewksbury Community Market takes place on Thursdays, from 4pm to 7pm, from June 4, 2026 from September 24, 2026, in the parking lot behind the Tewksbury Recreation Center at Livingston St. Park (288 Livingston Street). The market has 70 vendors overall, with 30-35 vendors present on any given week. Each week's lineup of vendors is listed on the Market's website at www.tewksburymarket.com. The Tewksbury Community Market is organized through the Office of the Community/Economic Development Planner and the Library, in cooperation with the Senior Center, Health Department and Town Manager’s Office.

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest DVD releases -- Wuthering Heights. A passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Romantic Drama. Rated R. 2 Hours, 16 Minutes. Doors will open at 1:30pm. Film will start at 2pm. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested to help cover the costs of refreshments.

Did you know Tewksbury is home to a therapeutic equestrian center? Strongwater Farm has been helping people with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges through the power of equine-assisted therapies for over a decade. Learn about the important work they do at the farm, meet the horses, and find out how you can help on this free tour of the farm! This event is for patrons in their 20’s and 30’s.

IN PERSON: Celebrate The History Of Tewksbury Through Film (*RR)

As America celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding, celebrate the history of Tewksbury through film. Enjoy short videos of Tewksbury, taken between the 1930 and 1960s. Topics covered will include: the Town Center, Tewksbury Hospital, Center High School, Doucette Field with football games, cheerleaders and band; and Tewksbury Memorial High School. This event has been organized by the Tewksbury Historical Society, in collaboration with Tewksbury Telemedia, with support from the Tewksbury Library. Refreshments will be served.

VIRTUAL: A Conversation With Romance Author L.C. Chu (*RR)

Monday, June 1, 7pm

Romance and women's fiction author L.C. Chu will discuss The Library of Flowers, a story of a family of Chinese witches who can change emotions through perfume and an exploration of relationships, identity, and the expectations we inherit. Chu's books have been recommended in the New York Times, and her rom-com debut, The Stand-In, was named Target’s Book Club Pick for May as well as an Amazon Book of the Month and Apple Best Books of May.

VIRTUAL: 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group -- Marketing Plan ("Plan Your Work & Work Your Plan") (*RR)

The Library 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group meets via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am to 11:30am. Informal networking takes place from 9am to 9:30am and 11:30am to noon. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your "Encore Career," this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking! Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Each meeting features a new topic. Meetings include a presentation and interactive workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and 1-on-1 coaching guidance. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search.

VIRTUAL: Celebrating 250 -- Unpacking The Declaration Of Independence: What It Meant Then & Now (*RR)

Wednesday, June 3, 7pm

Learn about the text of the Declaration of Independence, who the key players were, the Enlightenment influence and if the values espoused in the Declaration are still relevant today. Get an unbiased look at the Declaration and receive valuable content to understand the influences and ideals of the document. Led by David Alcox, who has taught civics at Milford (NH) High School for 25 years. He has received several awards and honors, including being named New Hampshire State Teacher of the Year three times and National Civics Teacher of the Year twice.

VIRTUAL: Marcel Duchamp -- The Alchemist Of The Avant-Garde (*RR)

Thursday, June 4, 2pm

Open the dictionary to the word “iconoclast,” and you will see a picture of Marcel Duchamp. He challenged the standards and beliefs of the art world and ushered in a new era of creative license—the reverberations of which are still felt in contemporary art today. Duchamp’s imagination was aroused by elements of Cubism, Surrealism, and even Pop Art, but his resourcefulness meant continuous self-reinvention and deliberate inconsistency. He once said, “I have forced myself to contradict myself in order to avoid conforming to my own taste.” Learn about his innovative works and the shockwaves they produced. A blockbuster Duchamp retrospective opens at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on April 12, 2026. Led by Janet Mandel, a retired 32-year art history teacher, who now presents illustrated talks on a variety of art history topics at colleges & universities, libraries, museums, senior centers, and community centers.

Preschool playgroup is a weekly group where kids can meet, play, and learn. Pick up STEM and early literacy skills, and have some fun while you're at it! Sponsored by Community Teamwork Inc's Family Resource Network. The Family Resource Network is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant (CFCE) from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

IN PERSON: Grow A Tomato! (*RR)

Friday, June 5, 10:30am

Take home your very own live tomato plant and watch it grow! No gardening experience necessary. In this STEM event we'll read a story, learn how to grow a tomato, look at the life cycle of a tomato plant, and demonstrate planting in garden. At the end you'll take home your plant to keep growing at home! Meet in the TPL Community Garden behind the library. Please dress for the weather and remember your sunscreen! If it rains, we will meet inside in the Children's Craft Room. This event is open to children birth-grade 5. Registration is required.
