Cross-country, golf, volleyball, and swim and dive are also underway, giving local families plenty of schedules and standout names to follow as Redmen squads look to improve on last year.
   

• A rare bird and a growing butterfly haven take flight in Tewksbury (homenewshere.com) — A growing butterfly and bird habitat on Tewksbury Hospital land, beside the public library's community garden, is drawing rare wildlife and more monarchs back into town. Founder John Ryan and local partners are expanding milkweed plantings, kids' programs, and accessible trails so residents can experience the sanctuary up close while helping restore struggling pollinator populations.
