Today's riddle: Riddle: David's parents have three sons: Snap, Crackle, and what's the name of the third son? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Tewksbury Police Provide Pedestrian, Crosswalk Safety Update (patch.com) — Tewksbury residents can expect to see more police officers monitoring crosswalks and busy pedestrian areas as the Tewksbury Police Department ramps up enforcement and education around pedestrian safety. Drivers are warned to slow down, yield at marked crosswalks, and avoid distractions, while pedestrians are urged to use crosswalks, stay alert, and ensure they are visible before crossing.
2. Tewksbury joins dozens of Massachusetts communities ending Flock (wcvb.com) — Tewksbury police are shutting down their Flock automated license plate cameras after residents raised strong privacy concerns and officials cited a lack of community support. Chief Ryan Columbus says the system did help solve serious crimes, but the department will pause its use until state lawmakers or courts set clearer rules for this kind of surveillance technology.
3. Man charged with vehicle break-ins in Tewksbury (newportdispatch.com) — Tewksbury police have charged a 23-year-old Malden man with more than 30 offenses tied to two April vehicle break-ins on Main Street and Apache Way, where wallets, cash, and cards were stolen. Investigators say some cards were later used in Tewksbury and nearby towns, and the suspect was ultimately arrested on Tewksbury warrants by Quincy police before a Lowell District Court arraignment.
4. High school roundup/scores: St. Mary's passes tough test against North Reading (bostonherald.com) — Tewksbury boys soccer nearly grabbed a Merrimack Valley Conference win before Central Catholic equalized on a last-minute free kick to force a 2–2 draw. The wider roundup highlights strong performances by nearby schools in football, soccer, golf, volleyball, and field hockey, giving Tewksbury fans a snapshot of how local rivals are faring across multiple leagues.
5. Holdout juror attorney asks for 'demon' mother's execution (knewz.com) — A high-profile Massachusetts murder trial involving Lindsay Clancy now directly touches Tewksbury, as she is being held and treated at state-run Tewksbury Hospital rather than in prison. After an 11–1 split jury forced a mistrial, the lone holdout juror's attorney is publicly defending his client and harshly criticizing both Clancy and the state's lack of a death penalty.
