Tewksbury Police Provide Pedestrian, Crosswalk Safety Update (patch.com) — Tewksbury police are ramping up enforcement around crosswalks and pedestrian safety, with officers targeting drivers who speed, fail to yield, or drive distracted in busy walking areas. Residents can expect more patrols and education efforts across town, and are urged to use crosswalks, stay alert, and make sure they're visible before stepping into the road.
2. Tewksbury drops Flock contract (lowellsun.com) — Tewksbury police have ended their contract with Flock Safety's license plate reader cameras after resident concerns, halting use of the 20‑camera system for now. Voters will next weigh two Special Town Meeting articles on Oct. 6 that could set townwide rules and limits on surveillance and ALPR technology, shaping what tools police can use in the future.
3. New superintendent presents entry plan which features listening tour to meet with staff, students and families (homenewshere.com) — Tewksbury's new school superintendent, Nancy Milligan, is launching a listening tour and in-depth review of academics, finances, and school climate to shape future district goals. The School Committee also discussed possible Dewing and Heath Brook building projects, approved a raise for part‑time staff, and opened registration for a Tewksbury 5K Fun(d) Run supporting TMHS classes of 2027–2029.
4. 22 articles make up special Town Meeting warrant (homenewshere.com) — Tewksbury's Select Board has backed most of the 22-article Special Town Meeting warrant, including major moves on school safety, capital projects, and long-term tax stabilization. Residents will also weigh in on MBTA Communities zoning compliance, a new disability commission, a proposed cell tower at Heath Brook, and whether to stop mailing full warrants to every household.
5. Soccer Recap: Andover Adds Another Dominant Win to Their Ledger (maxpreps.com) — Andover's boys soccer team continues its strong season, with a recap listing a recent 4-goal-margin win at Tewksbury Memorial among several dominant victories. The Golden Warriors just posted a 7–0 shutout over Amesbury to move to 5-1-2, while Amesbury remains winless and both teams now look ahead to home games on Tuesday.
