Why are you seeking elected office?
I am seeking reelection because I believe public service is about solving problems and improving people's lives. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the communities of the Second Essex and Middlesex District, and I learn something new from my constituents every day. Throughout my career, I have focused on common sense, hard work, and getting things done. At a time when many people are frustrated with politics, I believe voters want leaders who are willing to listen, work together, and deliver results.
The single most-pressing issue facing our district is __________ and this is what I intend to do about it.
The biggest challenge facing our district and our state is affordability. Rising housing costs, childcare expenses, healthcare costs, energy bills, grocery prices, and gas prices are making it harder for families to make ends meet. I will continue working to create more housing, strengthen our economy, expand opportunities for good-paying jobs, and ensure that Massachusetts remains a place where families, seniors, and young people can afford to live, work, and build a future.
What are the critical differences between you and other candidates seeking this post?
The biggest difference is my approach to governing. I believe in common sense, hard work, and getting things done. Throughout my career, I have worked with Democrats, Republicans, and Independent voters because solving problems should come before politics. I do not focus on partisan labels; I focus on results. Voters are tired of political theater and ideological battles. They want leaders who will listen, bring people together, and deliver practical solutions that improve their daily lives.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
My campaign is focused on affordability, housing, public safety, education, economic growth, jobs, and responsible artificial intelligence. I believe Massachusetts can lead the nation in innovation while also leading in protecting consumers. We missed the boat when it came to putting guardrails around social media, especially for young people. We cannot afford to make the same mistake with artificial intelligence. AI is an incredible tool with enormous potential, but we must proceed thoughtfully and implement strong safeguards to protect against misuse, particularly when it comes to children and teenagers. I am working to include some of the strongest AI protections in the country as part of Massachusetts' economic development strategy. This is a common-sense issue that affects every family, every business, and the future of our state.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
"Work hard, treat people with respect, and always keep your word."
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My parents were educators who taught me the value of hard work, integrity, respect, and service to others. Those values continue to guide me today. I am naturally curious, collaborative, and always looking for ways to bring people together to solve problems. Whether someone is a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, I represent everyone in the district.
I believe people are looking for leaders who will listen, work hard, and deliver results. My record reflects that commitment. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community, and I will continue working every day to make our neighborhoods, our region, and our Commonwealth stronger.
