Board Approves Later Sunday Liquor Store Closings In Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The town's board of selectmen approved new rules that would allow liquor stores to close as late as 10 pm on Sundays. Under current rules, stores need to close by 8 pm. In passing the measure, Tewksbury selectmen noted that most neighboring towns allowed liquor stores to stay open to 10 or 11 pm on Sundays, the latest closing time allowed under state law. Stores that want to take advantage of the later closing times need to file an application with the town.
