Tewksbury BU14-1 team won its second game this past Saturday 4-0 over rival Wilmington. The first half saw Tewksbury playing into the wind. Wilmington kept the pressure during the first half. However, the Tewksbury back four defended exceptionally well. Right fullback Scott Callahan was rock-solid along with left fullback Benn Lafortune. Co-Captains Shane Silvia and Kyle Paquette controlled the middle defense effortlessly. All four defensemen were able to move the ball out of their end with quick passes to the mid-field. Even playing into the wind, Tewksbury was able to generate some scoring opportunities. The first half came to an end with the score tied at 0-0.
With the wind at their backs, Tewksbury took advantage and kept the pressure on Wilmington. At the seven minute mark of the second half, Tyler Sar shot a low ball from outside the 18 yard box which the keeper had no chance to save. Five minutes later Nick McKeon took the ball on right dribbled by the Wilmington left fullback and crossed a perfect pass to Dario Riparo, who controlled the pass and put into the back of the net for a 2-0 Tewksbury lead. At the 20 minute mark, Josh Cabral was fouled by a Wilmington player.

Tyler Sar was called upon to convert the free kick from 25 yards out. Tyler’s shot sailed over everyone, including the Wilmington keeper and only stopped when it hit the back of the net. Co-Captain Mitch Miskell finished off the scoring for Tewksbury by taking a ball from just outside the 18 yard box and carrying it past the Wilmington keeper for a 4-0 Tewksbury lead. A good victory and wonderfully played game by the Tewksbury BU14-1 team. Next Saturday, Tewksbury travels to Lowell for what will be the first of five consecutive roads games. The Tewksbury Boys Under 12-1 team played to a scoreless tie against the Wilmington Wildcats' BU 12-2 team. Ameen Kalkhoran was superb all game and had some good chances against a very solid Wilmington keeper. Chris Repucci was not to be outdone with some great saves of his own.
Adam Colon and Connor Dane plugged the middle on defense and repelled the Wildcats' attack many times. Jack Bicknell and Alex Papageorgiou made some good rushes late in the game to try to seal the win. Sam Fortier and David Durante played well together at the right mid-field and forward positions. It was a back and forth affair which lacked scoring but not excitement.
Tewksbury BU 10-3 4
Billerica 0
On this cold, raw day 4/16/11 the Tewksbury BU10-3 team showed up to play, despite the weather, against Billerica. They came out strong, early on with Liam C. in net to start and defended by a solid defensive part of Sean and Arya who were relentless in defending their net, with long kicks and a strong defensive attack. The first goal was accomplished by Chris, with some good dribbling and a solid shot on net. The Billerica team tried countless times to keep Tewksbury out of their end, but at times it was not enough.
Joey was able to deflect the ball off a Billerica defender to score the 2nd goal of the game. He was assisted on that forward line of Nick and Noah who outplayed the defenders from their wing positions, by using some quick thinking and skillful dribbling around the Billerica defense. To set up Joey, nicely in front of the net to complete the deflect off of the defender. It shows that our boys are ready in front of the net to put the ball back into play-great job forwards!
The second half started out quickly, with Tewksbury pushing the ball up the field against a strong Billerica defense. Who attempted to give them a good fight, but it wasn't enough. Joey was able to connect, with the 3rd goal of the game, with the help of Liam F. who was able to trap and drop the ball down in front of the Billerica net, to set up the shot. Nick started out in net, this half and had some key saves. The defense was unstoppable again, Noah, Sean, Arya, and Liam C. they each had a chance to stop the Billerica attack with some quick thinking and great defensive moves. The forward line was pressuring the goalie all through the second half, Shawn was so close with a few key shots but the goalie was quicker.
The final goal of the game, was well executed by Thomas. Who had been trying hard all day, to connect whether it was corner kick or crossover. This time with the help of Shawn and Chris who also helped push the ball upfield, that forward line connected with Thomas drilling the ball into the far left corner, after a solid pass from Shawn. The goalie did not have a chance against this strong Tewksbury team. Collectively, as a team they all stepped up and fought hard against Billerica, on this chilly April day . They should be applauded for giving 110% out there. It was a well earned win for the BU10-3 team.

Chelmsford - 1
The kickoff to the second game was all about teamwork - Brandon Melo, RJ
Florino, and Mike DellOrfano took the ball down the field beautifully, Mike D passed to RJ with a great shot... too bad it missed. Chelmsford worked to get around defender Garrett Miskell, but Mike Reppucci was there with a big save.
Chelmsford once again tried to score, but with the assistance of Kyle Braciska, Mike R again made a terrific save. Second lineup put pressure on offense and tried to get some shots. Ryder Neadson ran the ball through Chelmsford passing to Lucas Frost for a shot that missed wide. Chad Boschetti made a great steal and carried the ball to the net but came up empty.
Mike R continued to make great saves. Andrew Maresca came with a great kick up past half field to his front line. Andrew along with Ryder kept the ball deflected from our goal. Lucas with lots of pressure from Chelmsford made a shot unfortunately missing. Ryder took the ball with a great kick from defense almost getting a goal. When subs came in, Brandon immediately worked with Garrett to take the ball from Chelmsford. Mike D made a nice shot, but aimed too high.
Great teamwork as Mike D and Brandon continue to work together. Second Half, Chelmsford started putting on some pressure. They made several shots, with Mike R with a great save, only to have another shot having Andrew backing him up. Unfortunately, Chelmsford continued on their hunt and they scored. Tewksbury knew they needed place some pressure of their own. Chad took the ball and the shot (miss). Brandon sent in a corner kick to Kyle who made a tremendous effort. Brandon continued with some great crossovers on net but missed his shot. Andrew made great defensive plays to keep the game within reach. Chad & RJ had great passing, only to shoot to and miss. Tewksbury came up short against Chelmsford 1-0.
