Senior Division

Bobcats claw the Knicks
The Bobcats pulled off an impressive upset victory in the first round of the Senior Division playoffs. Every player came to play hard and gave 100% effort to advance to the next round. Scoring was spread across the team, with no player reaching double figures proving it was complete team effort. Leading the team was Matt Famiglietti with 8 points. Patrick Leonard found his shot and aggressively put in 7 points. Andrew Carta followed with 6 points after pulling down multiple offensive rebounds. Mike Ladderbush had 4 points, and his countless defensive rebounds kept the team in the game down the stretch. Rounding out the total with 3 points each were Dan Turosz, Robert Papandrea, Paul Salibe, and Matt Cocca (2 points) tossed in a nice swish from just inside the arc. Team defense was the key to this win, and Nick McLaughlin and Steven Lee both came up with multiple steals, rebounds, and stops to provide further offensive chances for the team.

The Knicks lost a tough game to a talented Bobcats team. The Bobcats used their size to overpower a quicker Knick team, holding the Knicks to just 11 points at the half. The Knicks fought back and came within a basket at the end of the game. Chris Allen led the Knicks with 9 points and Sean Derrah added 8 more. The Knicks kept pace with the Bobcats through much of the game and had plenty of opportunities, but they had trouble getting the shots to fall. All but one Knick player scored in this game. The ball handlers Jeff Donahue and Nick Constantineau had great games controlling the pace and setting up plays. Jimmy Hutchinson and Chris Fothergill played great defense holding the Bobcats big men off the boards. Will Ramsey played his great defensive game, constantly pressuring the ball at all times. The other guards Will LeRette, Mike McAteer, and Joe Ogden each played well setting up plays and hit the outside shots to open the middle. The Knicks played as hard as they could and put in full effort, but came up just short, they are a great team and had a tremendous year.

Bulls squeak past the Hornets
The Hornets could not match the Bulls offense in a 54-51 loss. Nick Falcone and Bryan Foti led the Hornets on offense. Ron Mallach, Nick Salvato, and Mike Reznikow contributed at both ends of the floor. Ed Duffy and Josh Gadue put in big efforts on the boards. Ryan Panesitti and Jared Martin played solid games.

TimberWolves defeat the 76ers
Hats off to the 76ers who put up a battle all day and never quit. The TWolves played well with Austin Harrington putting in basket after basket while Blake Hery, Mike Baker, and David Morris also helped with inside scoring. Tim Donovan, Aarron Wenetta, and Jimmy Quilty did their part with their aggressive defensive play throughout the game. Joe Lalonde, Tommy Madore, and Chris Coste played with alot of heart as these guys were up and down all game long before securing the win. Anthony Payne was very versatile, moving into many different positions and played them well.

The Sixers played well Saturday at the Ryan School, but the TimberWolves came out on top. Leading the 76er scoring was Chris Manory with nine points, followed by David Barry with six points. Adam Rekkbie had four points, Brian Conneely contributed two points, and Jonathan Tower sunk two points from the charity stripe. Playing hard defensively were Josh Caredeo, Ben Rauseo, Brandon Fitzpatrick, Colin Brace, Tom Catyb , and Steve Ferreira. Even though the record does not reflect it, this was a great season for a great group of young men. Thank you to all the parents, coaches & players for making it so.

Bucks edge Magic
It was an early start Saturday morning and the Magic were ready. Bryan Tam opened the scoring with six of his season high 8 points. In the 3rd qtr the Magic had a hard time dropping it in from a foot away and were outscored 17-6. Camden White (2), Matthew Gaman, and Patrick Poirier (2) worked hard on both sides under the rim. At the end, the score didn't reflect how close of a game it was.

Jazz 49, Lakers 33
The Lakers raced to an early lead in this one before the Jazz found their legs midway through the second quarter and caught up. Cole Iovine led the offense in this playoff victory, he sacrificed his own shot for some nifty inside/outside feeds to many teammates. Greg Silva (7pts), Danny D"Entremont (6pts), and Bily Petherbridge (6pts) were the primary beneficiaries of Cole's excellent court vision and ball distribution. Petros Nacopoulos extended his hot shooting streak by burying 11 points in the victory. On defense it was the Kyle Fleury(5pts), Nick Noel (4pts), and Mack Boucher(5pts) show as they used their size and lift to outmuscle the Lakers in many opportunities under the hoop
