Tewksbury had 1583 early votes, according to Town Clerk Denise Graffeo, for 6.9 percent turnout. In the 2016 and 2018 state elections, the town had 31 and 17 percent early voting turnout, respectively.

The Democratic Republican, Libertarian and Green-Rainbow parties are all holding presidential primaries in the state. Voters in the Democratic and Republican primaries will choose state, town and ward committee members, and there are five state legislative special election primaries. Voters registered with one of those parties must vote in their party primary. Voters not enrolled with a party, or registered with any other party, may choose a ballot from any of the four.

Super Tuesday marks a key turning point in the Democratic primary. Over one-third of total delegates will be allocated. The Massachusetts contest in particular is a crucial test for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has no first- or second-place finishes in the four contests held so far.
